CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is an online computer-based test introduced by the Ministry of Education as a standard test for admission into all UG/PG Programs under Central Universities. CUET is being conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), an organization established with a motive to achieve “one India, one exam” on any topic. The test was previously known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) but was later changed by UGC (University Grants Commission).
It is designed to act as a single examination covering a wide range of topics, providing a common platform and equal opportunities to students across the country.

Candidates must be an Indian National Citizen
The test does not require a specific age limit for candidates.
Candidates must have qualified 12th level exam for UG, whereas for PG, candidates must have qualified bachelor’s degree from any recognized board or university.
To be eligible for undergraduate courses, candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% (General Category) or 45% (SC/ST Category) in class 12 from any recognized board.
For admission into post-graduate courses, candidates need to obtain a minimum of 55% (General Category) or 50% (SC/ST/OBC/PWD Category) in their bachelor’s/ equivalent examination from any recognized university.
To be eligible for Ph.D. programs, candidates must have a master’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 55% (General Category), 50% (OBC Category) and 45% (SC/ST/PWD Category) from any recognized university.

There are 28 subjects for which CUET (UG) is conducted, and students can choose up to 6 domain-specific subjects. For CUET (PG), students will have to appear for a defined set of subjects according to the programs they are applying for.
