The JEE Main exam is a popular engineering entrance exam for students who wish to pursue engineering at top colleges in India. It is the first stage for admission to prestigious institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
The duration of JEE Main Exam Paper 1 is 3 hours (4 hours for the PWD candidates). This paper is held online. There are two sections for each subject - MCQs (Section A) and numerical (Section B). In Section A, 20 questions are asked from each of the subjects, and all are compulsory. In Section B, 10 questions are asked from each. Candidates can select and answer any 5 questions as per their choice.

Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced (JEE Advanced) formerly known as the IIT-JEE Advanced was started 60 years ago in the year 1961. The exam is conducted to offer admission into the various courses in the IITs like Engineering, Science and Architecture. The JEE Advanced exam in two shifts and each paper for 3 hours. so the total duration of JEE Advanced exam is 6 hours a day. Its conducted once a year in English and Hindi language.
