The LSAT—India™ 2021 applicant with the highest score enrolled in JLU School of Law shall be awarded a Scholarship for an amount equivalent to the tuition fee for one academic year.

Sports Scholarships

Student Accommodation

Jagran Lakecity University has made sure that you have cherishing and fun-filled years of your stay at the hostels and it becomes not your home away from home but a home as much as home.

The university offers comprehensive hostel facilities for boys and girls separately within the campus and outside respectively. With dedicated hostel warden and faculty members staying on campus, the university student accommodation is a highly secure environment so that the students stay comfortably and focus on their academics and overall development.The Student Enrichment Hub at Chandanpura has a modern hostel, which has 3 blocks and 14 floors where students can avail single, double or triple occupancy, a/c and non a/c rooms as per their preference. The rooms are fully furnished, properly ventilated and adequately sunlit during the day. The off-campus accommodation of JLU offers double and triple occupancy rooms and can house 70+ students; bus service is available for travelling to and from campuses.

The life in hostels enables students to spend ample time in the university campus, utilize the library and other facilities to ensure they develop academically and acquire the necessary skills that can be obtained only through experience. Sports Facilities

JLU believes in an all-round development of its students and hence offers different sports and recreational facilities on the campus. The facilities range from a modern gym, 25 meters swimming pool, cricket practice wickets, futsal arena to football ground and basketball courts. It also has a dedicated student lounge which provides access to indoor games

• - Gymnasium - Our state-of-the-art Gymnasium has cardiovascular equipment including treadmills and ellipticals. We also have dumbbells, z-rods, leg presses, bench presses and multiple-weight training equipment. In addition to this, we have a free weights section as well as a stretching area for your essential cool-down or foam-rolling session. The gym tactically overlooks the clear blue swimming pool which entices an individual to exercise in this pristine environment.
• - Recreation Center - Opened in 2019, the Recreation Center is designed to house all the non-athletic games and activities. The center has board games, a pool table, and an indoor multipurpose hall with judo mats and martial arts gear that helps the Jagranites to stay physically fit. University also uses the center to conduct a range of classes, including Yoga, Zumba, Dance classes, and more. The staff and day boarders can access the center at allotted times and hostellers get a subscription to the center and gym as an added benefit for boarding on campus.

Library

The library is unarguably the most important academic facility of any university. Jagran Lakecity University has gone far and beyond to make sure that its library is one of a kind. The primary library at JLU Student Enrichment Hub is an iconic 90 feet tall PYRAMID, which is the only functional pyramid used for academic purposes in India. Spread over28000 sq. ft. the structure houses 35000 books and has a subscription of 30+ monthly and annual journals and magazines. The Pyramid has a quiet reading area for 100 students and also gives access to vast reading resources online. The students and staff at JLU are provided access credentials to ‘McGraw Hill E-Books’ which additionally opens millions of books, journals, research papers, and much more. The Faculty of Law houses a separate ‘Mini-Library’ in Block C, which has around 2000 hardcover books, and students of law, are provided access to thousands of legal resources online.

The library at the main Mugaliyachap campus of JLU houses over 8000 books, magazines, and journals. It also has 25 computer systems that serve the purpose of an E-Library for the learners. The library is at Block A and has a subscription to 8 annual and monthly journals, especially from the Engineering and Hospitality sector.

Auditoriums

Jagran Lakecity University has a student-centric approach at its core. Especially for a practice-based curriculum, the students need to showcase their art in front of a large audience. JLU has 4 ultra-modern auditoriums which fulfill the purpose. These gathering hubs are also a place for the JLU community to get together for events and host celebrities, speakers, and academicians from all around the world. TEDx JLU 2019 was conducted in the Block C auditorium at SEH Chandanpura, which has a seating capacity of 260 and a 3 feet tall stage, the largest on the campus. Apart from it, JLU has an auditorium hall in Block A that can host 110 attendees at once and a theatre in Block E – Shri Gurudev Gupta Media Studios that can host 70 people for a memorable audiovisual experience. At the Mugalia Chhap Campus, Block C has a dedicated auditorium for a gathering of 100+ which is extensively used to host the events and functions of SOET & SOHT.

All the auditoriums at JLU are Wi-Fi enabled with a projector and a white screen for practical purposes. These gathering halls are digitally accustomed to holding video conferences and webinars for all the attendees, with an amazing acoustic experience.

GD Rooms

Jagran Lakecity University establishes itself as a practice-based university, and hence research is at the forefront of our curriculum. Labs and Group Discussion rooms are essential pieces of infrastructure to promote fruitful discussions and intelligent conversations.

JLU has 7 dedicated GD/ conference rooms for students and staff. These rooms, spread between two campuses, have accommodation capacity varying from 12-30. All the rooms are Wi-Fi enabled, with large screens and projectors for display and surround sound-enabled audio. The rooms are equipped with microphones to enhance the speaker’s audio and have high-definition cameras for enabling video conferencing, especially with partner universities abroad.

Mess facility

The University’s dining hall through its modern kitchen and a seating capacity for 180 people is designed to cater for students & staff with hygienically cooked, mouthwatering dishes. The hostelites indulge in nutritious food 4 times a day and the mess will not let you miss your home-cooked meal. The best part about the mess at Jagran Lakecity University is that the student committee along with faculty members decides the menu for every semester. Thus, when students and administrators join hands to improve the food on campus, the mess is no longer a monotonous place with boring food.

Food Courts

For the foodies, our campus has a lively eating space, called ‘APPETITE’. It has 5 food outlets where you can indulge yourself in delightful cuisines from around the globe. Food is an opportunity for a university to define its culture and APPETITE is just that - a melting point for the entire university to come, sit together as one single community and enjoy the food.
 

JLU Student Clubs (JSCs)

JLU Student Clubs (JSCs) are made to address the interests and needs of Students' physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional stability. JSC is responsible for making sure that students are involved in extracurricular activities after their academic sessions. These clubs are student-led with the support of faculty mentor(s). JSCs are run by the Communications Team at JLU.

The clubs have a monthly activity calendar that is public on the website https://jlu.edu.in/studentclubs At the end of the academic year, university awards the most active club and its members for its innovative and engaging events based on number of events, student engagement level, and overall quality of these events. Also, since it is a student-led initiative, students at JLU will hold three positions within the club i.e. President, Vice President, and Treasurer. The election information for the year can be collected from the respective mentors of the club.

• - Sport & Adventure Club - The Sport & Adventure Club is an integral part of Jagran Lakecity University’s Campus Recreation. It fills the void between academics, recreation and outdoors.. Sport & Adventure Club gives the university community an opportunity to participate in competitive sports activities, learn new skills, improve skill levels, and enjoy the recreational and social fellowship derived from sports involvement.
• - Photography Club - Photography Club of Jagran Lakecity University provides club members with a variety of opportunities to explore the many different aspects of photography. You will not need a fancy camera to participate in Photography Club; you can use your phone or any other photo-taking device you may have. You will learn tips and tricks for making the most of your cameras, techniques for taking different kinds of images, and editing methods for creating awesome final products. Many of our club activities will consist of photo-taking excursions; we want you to get out of your room and explore the world using your camera lens to guide you. This club is meant for all skill levels, so whether you’ve been shooting since before you could walk or you just picked up a camera for the first time yesterday, you’ll be a perfect fit here. The club focuses on interactions between professionals and students which inspires learning and creates an ecosystem of highest visual aesthetics.
• - Music and Dance Club - This club explores and celebrates many different cultures and encourages to learn new skills and share the love of dance & music through the experience and beauty of moving together rhythmically. The members learn about the cultural aspects of music & dances, and the choreography associated with each dance and nuances of music. The members experience the many aspects of these art forms can expand horizons and might help you find new favourites—or maybe even just help you find new people—pals!—with whom you have something in common. Apart from performances, the students talk about the songs and artists they love, and learn together about new genres. They will gain new perspectives on the music & dance and build appreciation for Indian and world music . if you love exploring and talking about music and rhythm of dance and its impact, Music & Dance Club is for you.
• - Literary Club - The Literary Club is a place where students can meet to read and write. The club promotes creativity skills and what it takes to be a writer and poet. Club members meet to discuss books and the craft of writing. Some members choose to share their writings during the meetings, therefore starting many discussions. At times we critique each other’s work and offer suggestions. The Literary Club is more than just a club for reading and writing; it is also a place where students can come to share their insights on politics, aesthetics, literature and text. From time to time, the community organizes a variety of literary activities such as discussions, lectures, group discussions, poetry writing and reading, short story writing, quiz competitions, interactive / lecture sessions, etc.
• - Dramatics Club - This is an initiative to promote theatrical arts on campus and encourage expressive performances by the students. Mentored by practitioners & experts, the student members plan, mount and perform various theatrical art forms on and off campus. The membership puts up at least one theatre performance each month for the audiences which could be in the form of stage performances, road plays, mono acts, mime acts, role plays et al. The club works with a vision of “ “Theatre in Unlikely Spaces” where you will listen to theatrical music, write short skits, practice, and of course, play tons of theatre games. No experience or theatrical talent required. The activities carried out by the Club will encourage students to develop a different perception towards theatre and performing arts.
• - MUN and Debating Society - The Model UN and Debating Society of Jagran Lakecity University aims is to empower university students with the skills of expressing their beliefs clearly and concisely, public speaking and effective communication in a formal setting, and staying aware of current events in the world It aims to develop the skills needed for parliamentary debate and good debate for the Model UN. Various aspects of debating are learnt and practiced, as well as different formats and general strategies for improving discussion skills. In addition to presenting research, model UN process, draft resolution assistance, speech delivery are some of the other activities of this Society.
• - Community Service Club - The Community Service Club at Jagran Lakecity University is a hub for community outreach, volunteering and social impact that promotes social wellbeing and harmony amongst individuals. We are committed to work in the community and spread awareness about promoting social change within the university and the city. The mentors act as consultants for the club members and guide them on the vision of making a positive social impact.
• - Startup and Entrepreneurship Club - Start-up & Entrepreneurship Club is a learning-by-doing environment where students can cultivate their entrepreneurship skills. Students in the club will participate in the development of a business, at minimum by learning from attending meetings, but ideally developing a start-up. The club has lectures, bootcamps with resources and experienced entrepreneurs from the business community mentor the teams, along with University faculty advisors. Some business plans from the club enter into the JLU Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem to potentially get funding for their start-ups. The club is also a place where students of JLU can incubate a business idea, providing students with learning opportunities as the students help develop the idea through the club. An emphasis is on following through so that the club creates real profitable businesses. Through community-based programs it promotes networking events, peer-to-peer development, learning opportunities and provides an informal platform to discuss your new ideas.

Moot court

Moot court requirements at Faculty of law, Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal mandates that students participate in moot court arguments before receiving their law degree. Faculty of Law offers right from the rst year a series of moot court opportunities to students of different skill levels and legal interests. The activity is competitive by nature, and students vie for honors within their school and in regional and national moot court competitions featuring teams of students from several law schools. Faculty of Law hosts one of the biggest inter university moot court competitions, annually.
